Navy 2-0-1 in First 3 League Games after Loss to NYU

After a 4-3 loss at home to reigning ACHA Division 2 champions, New York University, Navy was able to take 5 of 6 possible points in their first 3 league games, including 2 wins and 1 OT loss in a shootout.

Game 1 vs. Villanova: After a scorless first, goals from Stamler and Harrigan, assisted by Vandenberg, led Navy past 'Nova in a 2-1 victory at McMullen Ice Arena.

 

Game 2 vs. Temple: Navy rallied after a 1-0 deficit after the 1st, producing 6 goals in the 2nd and 3rd period. Goalie Luke Markus stood on his head with huge saves on odd-man rushes throughout the game, and Forward Stamler netted 2 goals in the Navy win.

 

Game 3 vs. Towson: This fierce rivalry featured a strong physical performance from the Mids led by Defensman Haigh and Forward Vandenberg, however, regulation ended in a 3-3 tie, resulting in a 5 minute sudden-death OT period. After a scoreless OT, Navy fell in the shootout 2-1.

Next weekend features two away league games vs. Villanova and Temple on Saturday and Sunday, October 29th and 30th respectively.
