Navy Sweeps the Weekend

Navy's power projection and forecheck dominance leads to a sweep.

The Navy Midshipman played Villanova, Penn State Berks and Temple this past weekend (23OCT15-25OCT15) and displayed an impressive show of skill. 

On Friday, Navy took on Villanova, who were undefeated at home, to start off their first ECHA league game. Navy's first period was rather uneventful, with no goals scored. Our goal tender, #35 Matt Truninger, could not be phased. The first point on the board was put up by #19 Matt Caine assisted by #12 Matt Harrigan.   #11 Trent Lulow would score two goals and #10 Jack O'hear would also score two goals. Navy would win the game 5-1 ending Nova's home win streak.

On Saturday, Navy took on Penn State Berks @ The Body Zone, #10 Jack O'hear, #11 Trent Lulow, #12 Matt Harrigan, #15 Luke Turk, #19 Matt Caine, and #23 Gil Givens all scored a goal and #22 John Linenger put two goals in. Matt Truninger played for 50 minutes, holding Penn State to only 1 goal on 26 shots. #31 James O'Halloran played for 10 minutes, with 3 tough saves. Navy won 8-1

On Sunday, Navy took on Temple @ The Flyers Skate Zone Northeast. Thee game was filled with numerous penalties including 3- 5 minute major penalties and 2 players being ejected from Temple's team. Tensions cooled down and Navy's power play dominated. #26 Chris Day, #3 Cole Maetzold and #10 Jack O'hear each put up a pair of goals. #11 Trent Lulow had a goal and an impressive 4 assists. #35 Matt Truninger took 16 shots and only let 2 goals in. 

The next game is this Friday @ Towson.
