Krysil Selected to Represent Team USA in 2013 Winter World University Games

Annapolis, MD — Naval Academy Senior Thomas Krysil has been selected for the U.S. Men’s National University Hockey Team.

The team was announced Oct 2nd by USA Hockey. The squad will participate in the 2013 Winter World University Games, set for December 11th-21st, 2013, in Trentino, Italy.

Players for the U.S. Men’s National University Team were selected from players competing within the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), a pool of over 8,000 players.

“Tom Krysil is a 4-year letter-winner at Navy, and he truly embodies the term student-athlete,” said Cmdr. Tom Gamble,  Navy Hockey’s Officer Representative.  “His selection to this team is an absolutely wonderful accomplishment for him, Navy Hockey and the U.S. Naval Academy.”

Krysil has been a member of the ACHA All-Rookie Team, ACHA 3rd Team All- American, and last year was a member of the ACHA 2nd All-American Team. The past two seasons he led the entire ACHA in points and goals.

Krysil is 6 points away from breaking the all-time points record at Navy.  He recorded 54 goals and 31 assists in his sophomore campaign and 47 goals and 41 assists in his junior campaign.  

“We are unbeliveably proud of Tom on his selection to further represent his country on the national stage.” said Navy Hockey Head Coach Michael Fox.

Tom will join team USA on December, 4th, first traveling to Germany for exhibition contests and then on to Italy. 

Krysil currently ranks in the top third of this year’s graduating class with a 3.39 GPA.  He is a Computer Engineering major from Fitchburg, MA.
