Annapolis, MD — With his 2 goals and 2 assists in Saturday night’s 8-0 victory over Towson University, Naval Academy senior Thomas Krysil broke the all-time Navy points record held by J.D. Walker. The record was set in 2004.

The all-time Navy points record of 230 was set by J.D. Walker, who played from 2000 to 2004. Dave Rost who played at the United States Military Academy from 1973 to 1977 currently holds the all-time NCAA points record at 330.

"It is a tremendous honor to have reached this milestone. I really cannot stress enough how I would not have made it this far without the help of my teammates. They share a huge part in this record,” said Krysil. “I’m thrilled that my mom was here with me on this special night. Without her I would not be where I am today.”

Krysil recorded 21 goals and 19 assists in his freshmen campaign, 54 goals and 31 assists in his sophomore campaign and 47 goals and 41 assists in his junior campaign.  This season he currently has 9 goals and 12 assists. The past two seasons he led the entire American Collegiate Hockey Association in points and goals.

“We are unbeliveably proud of Tom,” said Navy director of hockey operations Ben Berkey. “While this record is certainly a nice accolade, Krysil truly is a team player who puts the interest of the team above his own. We expect great things to continue from him as we enter league play.”

Navy looks to continue it’s winning ways when it travels to Reading, PA and Bethlehem, PA next weekend for league contests against Penn State Berks and Lehigh University.
